I had the infamous Squeeky creaking Steering wheel issue that is spoken about quite often here. But this time BMW AG told my dealer to simply drain a little of the Steering wheel fluid and add some additive that it sent them. That seems to have fixed the issue with needing to change any parts.

I had the same issue and they added the "magic" fluid too but has in fact made it more noticeable now. So the car is going back in a few weeks to maybe have a new rack!!

I have an 2004 545i with the active steering. When turning at slow speeds I get a groaning sound. Not a squeek. Is this a sound typical of the problem?
My dealer first reported all was normal and the 2nd trip did some lubrication which might of helped a little. Thanks in advance for advice
