My Ride: 545i - ordered in January delivered April 21st! Black Sapphire Metallic, Black Dakota Leather, Anthracite Maple.

I hadn't had an issue before this morning but then it became cold (see picture). Then every expansion joint I hit the car squeaked and rattled.
I know this topic has been beaten like a dead horse but I couldn't believe how noisy the damn car was. It was like you turned a switch on.

That's been my experience. It was 33 degrees this morning here in Phoenix, and my car was creaking and rattling away. I can't even imagine what it would be like at -5. When it's warmer outside, and the car has been sitting in the sun, I notice less rattling. Maybe it needs to pre-heat for quieter driving?

Wow, jeffnin, I didn't get out in my 545i this morn., but I will be out early in it tomorrow. I took my Z06 for service early this morn. I heard one creak out of the right front that I never had heard before, but it shut up quickly. I'm looking forward to what happens in the morning; I'll post back.

Ah yes...5 degrees below...brings back memories of my time in Minneapolis... I remember we went for something like a month with the high temp for the day below zero!

yes,as anything shrinks when it's cold(just like almost anything swells when it's hot your car is no exception,my experience was the same with my e39,although it never was rattling and squeaking during warm weather.

I confirm that my rattle in the ceiling got reduced when the car heats up. But by warm weather, I got other rattling coning from the rear!

My rattle/squeak comes from the very plastic in your picture... If you hold the perspex cover for the speedo it stops! At least I've found it so I can do something...

Mine too! If I press with my finger in the bottom right corner of the instrument binnacle - where the rubberised material meets the perspex material, it stops.

i noticed a few creaks last night also. The temp. was 22f, I guess it is normal. The one thing that helped some of them go away was to put down the sun shades.
