Thumbs up

I am using 18" runflat and I find the gap between the rear wheels and fenders too wide. Sports suspension is an option that can lower the gap by 15mm. Is this worthwhile? What would it do to the ride and handling quality? Thanks.

Personally, I prefer the ride and obviously improved handling of the sports suspension. But removing the gap would be better accomplished by lowering. Currently, I don't plan to do so, but there is a pretty current thread in the Parts, Mods, etc., discussion that deals with lowering.

I love sport suspension even if got the msport suspension. It makes the car handle a lot better in high speeds. I think it looks "cooler" when the car is a bit lower that the ordinary one. Good luck

Sports suspension is an expensive retrofit. ACS suspension is also another rather expensive option.

If you're going in for looks alone, why not just change the springs? Juzz4Cars does Breyton springs. Can't remember the price but my friend got his 520 lowered there. They will also re-align your wheels after completing the job. He hasn't complained about any detrimental handling since then.

I deliberately opted against the sports suspension. It's not part of a package here.
For me the active stabilision in combination with the regular suspension is the best option.
Saved my front spoiler more than once aswell..

Sport suspension lowers car only 20mm so it should cause many extra touch downs. Personally I curse my self not to took it!

I personally find that here in the USA when ordering the Sport Package it gave us a Lower ride by 0.6 inches and firmer springs, shocks, and ARS. we test drove two 2005 530i's with sport package and without. the Sport Package IMHO not only Handles a lot better then none sport but Ride better then the none sport. when going in down a road the ARS decouples from the anitroll bars which really makes both sides of the car totally independant to react to bumps and groves in the road in a more supples way then the none sport model did. sure it may feel firmer but it's nothing close to being close to harsh or uncomfortable. heck my 55 year old mom and dad have a 530i sport and say they prefere the ride more then there 2002 525i none sport as well the the other 2005 530i none sport they drove. go for the Sport package you will not be disappointed at all.

I prefer the ride to be a tad comfy - so i would not opt for sports suspension esp with 18" & run flats

also - brings back horrible memories of my Z4
