Seems to be the same ... The part numbers I saw for the suspension pieces seems to be the same between them.

Im sure ive read somewhere that the suspension was tweaked to improve passenger comfort when the LCI was released.

From my understanding based on the 5 series brochure.

Pre-LCI 550i were regular sports caliberated suspensions
LCI 550i are retuned sports caliberated ( similar to M5 ?? )

525i, 528i, 535i all share the same sports suspension as the pre-LCI 550i cars. Not 100% sure on the M-sport cars but it may also be retuned suspension?

the LCI brochure says the Sport suspension is "re-tuned" but it's not clear whether this means re-tuned from the regular suspension or from the LCI sports suspension. I would guess the average consumer is not thinking about pre vs. post LCI when reading a brochure so my guess would be they're comparing relative to the standard suspension. Just a thought .

Interesting thread. According to this, there doesn't seem to be a difference in ride height between pre-LCI and LCI.

I have a pre-LCI 530d M Sport with 19" 172's ; I also get to drive the same spec LCI model, again fitted with 19" 172's. The sports suspension is identical in terms of ride on both models.

remember ride height is only one aspect of a suspension. you've also got spring rates, damping on the struts/shocks, anti-roll bar sizing (or with dynamic drive, programming/size of the active roll bars)...there's quite a few parameters that could have been changed and yet gone completely unnoticed to the eye.
