Hi all... thanks in advance for reading.
I've searched all around for anyone having similar issue, only found one thread on an M5 forum and .... no solutions besides (go to the dealership, it was a low-hour job).
The day I picked up my 535i (53k miles on her), I inadvertently broke the thigh-extender support somehow. Not thinking it was fully extended, somehow it overextended and then refused to go back on it's own.
The rest of the seat controls work perfectly, but not the thigh extender. Not a big deal... it can be moved out manually on each side, so it's basically "335" thigh-support, but I do miss having that electronic control... and it would be nice as my wife and I share our cars with each other.
Anyone else face this? Anyone know the fix or have a link to a good DIY?
Thanks!

There are like 3 different actuator motors under the seat that control the movements on the seats. Do you hear the motor at least when you press the button to work the thigh support? If so, the movement may be off track. If you don't hear the motor, you will need a new one. In either case, you will need to remove the seats to look under them. Check out realoem.com to find the part you will need for a DIY.
