I have a 2004 530i. I already know that I have a slow engine oil leak from the oil pan gasket and I'm starting to think I might be leaking PS fluid as well.

If I didn't have the splashguard on it would be a hell of a lot easier to tell how much my car was leaking when I park it in the garage.

How does everyone feel about the splashguard? Do you keep it on?

I keep mine on, but if you suspect you have a leak and you want to keep an eye on how much fluid you're losing on a daily basis, remove it for a few days, then put it back in once you have your answer or fix your problem. It takes 5 minutes or less to remove.

+1...If you live where you get a lot of rain or snow (which gets salted) I would leave the splashguard on to minimize rust and corrosion.

Defitnatly put it back on after u find your leaks. It also helps protect under neath the car from rocks and road debris. I just ran over a truck tire tread. and if it wasnt for that cover
, It would of jacked up the ARS hydraulic lines or my ac tensioner and belt..
So the guys are right about keeping it on..

It keeps all your joints safe from the elements. I would leave it on and it makes the car aerodynamic.
