Is there a recall campaign for the ubiquitous broken headlight assembly brackets ???

Have not heard anything on that. I'll be having my second cracked/broken set replaced on Monday...

I know there is a revised bracked to cure the braking problem. But they will only give it when yours are broken.

Then I'll give BMW the benefit of the doubt that the revised bracket was not available the first time they replaced them, hence the second broken set...

In july we had a discussion about the brackets and there are two partnumbers for the ones that get broken and the new revised ones..

If you do a search you should find this discussion

Thank you for mentioning that, I had completely forgotten about that much earlier thread! I did compare the part numbers back then and I had been given the new brackets to replace the orginal equipment brackets from the factory which were cracked. Then the answer is that the revised brackets put in my car have also broken. I'll let everyone know next week if there is in fact now a third version of the bracket, or if they will simply replace w/ the "revised" brackets.

This is very interesting info. I haven't checked my brackets lately but will do so tomorrow.

Thanks for reminding me!

From what I heard, the whole headlight will be replaced if the bracket is broken. At least this is happening in Singapore.

When I first brought my car in for this, they did not realize that just the bracket could be replaced and the dealer was going to replace entire headlight unit at $1,000 US a pop! They did some quick research and I guess found the TIS and replaced just the bracket. Your dealer is wasting a lot of money if he is replacing the entire unit...

Both right and left headlight brackets were cracked and my dealer replaced them (just the brackets).

Many months ago I found a BMW service advisory that somebody posted here or on Roadfly, and I printed it out. I can't find the link now, but here is the info on my printout:
