OK, this topic has gone around a couple of times, but now it is starting to really piss me off. It rained again last night, and started to get the speaker static, popping and automatic volume swings again, that the dealer said was just a software issue. I am beginning to think that this happening, and it raining is not just a coincedence.

My thought is that some of the water is getting into the door wiring and causing this similar to when window tinters got water in there. Is there any other thoughts about this out there?

I would really appreciate thoughts on this theory.

I am also gettin the infamous door squeeking now also.

Do you notice it more after washing the car, or it has been raining?

I talked to my sales guy back in Denver, there service guys said that there were not bulletins that they were aware of, but that it could be an issue with some wiring contact in the door, which is what I was thinking. I need to try and get it on video, so I can show the dealer since it is intermittent.

When you said your doors or windows squeek when it rains have you felt the "felt" material around the door edges to see if its wet? Also same with after washing your car...

I felt around the door edges after washing the car and they dont seem to be wet. It seems that this car is doing a good job in keeping water out of the door sills and door jams after a wash. I wonder if your door drains and seals are not sealing properly hence letting water into the doors.

I havent noticed any squeeking and or speaker problems when wet. but then again it wasnt all that wet yesterday here in LA, yes it rained by not a lot.

Maybe go hose down your car and feel the inside door edges and see how wet it gets. ALso see how much water gets into the door jams. After a wash mines almost 90% dry.

Some testing is showing that the CCC is intermittently failing according to the dealer. They have been going back and forth with BMW tech with testing, results, testing, results, etc., and hopefully will have an answer tommorrow.

When I took it in, I had a video of the noise, so that they could not come back to say they could not duplicate the problem. Fortunately, they were also able to reproduce it, and they agreed that the the static/popping was unbearable.
