Hey guys my car is at the Stealer for some repairs, Does anyone have an idea of how much would it cost to change the spark plugs .. and also what would be a recomendation to do on almost 60k, what would be a good idea to replaced as I am thinking of keeping the car for a long time..

thanks

The dealer gave me a quote of $495 to replace the sparks. That's on a V8 though.
I would replace breaks and do brake fluid flush.
I would also increase the number of times you change your oil. Maybe every 4k-5k miles.
And of course top off all fluids.
Oh and maybe clean the fuel injectors.

spark plugs should be the NGKs and i think they cost $130. Of course the dealer will try to say its a four hour install when its not.

I would check your suspension, all the joints, shocks, springs.

Check your basics, lack of upkeep on that usually leads to the bigger problems

BMW does not make V6's only Inline 6's .
If you can cross reference the part number to NGK, you should be able to pick them up from Autozone or Advance Auto. I recently did this for my E46.
Based on some research, 6 cylinders call for Spark Plug "High Power" NGK ILZFR6D11 (1208) while the 8 cylinder calls for Spark Plug "High Power" NGK IZFR6H11 (4294) (8 Per Car)
They might be around $10-12 at these discount places. Give it a try. Doing the job is a piece of cake. You could easily save atleast $400 by doing it yourself.
BMW calls for 100k mile service interval for spark plugs and I believe them 100% on this. I think anything less is overkill unless you see your engine misfiring.
Good luck.

These are NGK plugs and I have found them to work better than Bosch in BMW's. Even the dealership parts counter guy will tell you the same. Is the 6 speed made by ZF? It should specify somewhere what kind of oil you need. You might be lucky that you have a 6 speed manual. Chances are its 75W90. I would go with Redline or Mobil1. There are other choices as well but I have found both these oils to work well.
Good luck.

There are numerous reports of people reporting very noticeable differences in acceleration and throttle response when sparks where changed at only 40k miles.
