I traded my E60 (my first car) 2 months ago for a new A6, they gave me $21k which I thought was fair. My E60 had 49k miles, scratches on the hood and rear bumper, etc. It wasn't in the best condition, but it wasn't bad either, still had warranty until next year.
For the last 2 months I would see it sitting at the dealership, they priced it at $24k, lowered it to $23k, and finally had it listed for $22k. I imagine they sold it for $20-$21k taking a loss. Today I was just randomly checking and realized it had sold, ran a VIN and sure enough someone bought it and now the title has a lien on it.
Pretty sad to see it go, I was tempted at offering my trade in (TL) and like $4k on top for it lol. Had ZERO problems with the car, it was a great first car, really miss it. I can say with 100% confidence its going to run 100% fine for the next 100k miles. I hope it went to a good home and I hope the new owner treats it with care.
I will be back next year, thinking about getting a 535 as a daily.
Cheers.

Please don't make the mistake of following up on Who bought It. It is always emotionally painful. Especially if you took care of it and they don't.

I hear you. Just listed my 550 that I've owned for 5 and half years. Best car I've ever owned and stiill love it. Did a fantastic euro delivery, which would nearly impossible to top as a new car purchase. Hope to buy a 997 and get this Porsche bug out of my system. Would certainly buy a used e60 again because its the last of the true German sports sedans and I know how to maintain and fix them (largely due to this great forum). The new 5 and a6 do nothing for me.

Yeah -- add the new owner on facebook, send them a few e-mails, and drive by their house every now and then. You know.. just to make sure the car is in good hands. Maybe run into their driveway and give the car a wax every now and then to help out.
