Default some idiot hit my car and left no note.

just right now noticed a crack on my bumper, it could only have happened last night, where i park at work no way it can be hit. looks as if it was a truck with a tow hitch as i see a square imprint. center of bumper got cracked, right side kidney got broken tabs, everything else looks fine, i looked behind the bumper and the metal bumper doesnt look touched or anything else is broken or damage thankfully. everything is aligned right and no gaps anywhere so doesn't look like anything got moved, by the imprint, it looks like the hitch hit the right spot and just cracked it. seems like i might be able to fix it with some plastic welder.

some people just have no respect. sucks because i just got this m5 style bumper i just saved up some money to have it wrapped, and now i have to worry about buying a new bumper if i cant fix it, just glad it was something minor and nothing serious like airbag going off, or hood or light damage. anyways, it can wait, ill rather use the money to spoil my nieces for xmas...to me thats worth more than the car looking pretty.

you're right. save the money for things that really do matter.
but with that said, do you think wherever you were may have cameras? retrace your steps. Could work out in your benefit!

well i know it wasnt there on saturday thats for sure. sunday i parked at a friends house, but i remember walking up to my car and looking at it as i always do, i would have notice it. yesterday i parked behind a mini van infront of my house when i got home, i know who the van belongs to, so next time i see it i want to see if it has a trailer hitch, if it does, that might be who hit it, besides that, i know 100% it didnt happen at work as i park infront of a wall, so impossible. after closely looking at it, it does look very repairable. sucks it happened, but like i said, could have been worse. atleast now i get to learn plastic welding.

oh and no video of there it was parked.

That sucks but you're so right, spoiled your nieces since it more precious than materials. Materials can always be fixed some other day since it's replaceable.

Keep us posted on how you managed.
Enjoy your holiday mate.

That sucks Bro, good luck repairing it. I am going through the same thing, except it was my own fault. I agree, I chose spoiling my kids and wife over spending too much out of pocket to fix my car too. Still, some nice goodies coming.

What happened to your Lumma front bumper?

I had this same thing happen but to my rear bumper. I found it to be a blessing because I have been meaning to order a Mtech rear bumper. I've dealt with Joe over at trinityautosport.com for both my front and rear bumper.

My bodyshop doesn't feel like these bumpers are worth repairing when there are cheaper aftermarket bumpers available.

i sold my lumma kit and got the M5 kit. just wanted change although i really miss the lumma kit, im glad it didnt have when i had that kit as it would be impossible to replace. i haven't updated my signature photo as im waiting til i have my bumper painted or my whole car wrapped...its just primer right now.

well, i was able to fix the crack. i purchased a plastic welder and got to work. i still had the plastic tabs from the PDC sensors i removed since my car doesnt have them and i used that plastic as the filler for the plastic welding so it would be the same material as the bumper. it wasnt as hard as i thought it would be. the bond is VERY strong, and after i get done sanding and a little poly flex filler, i dont think you'll ever notice it was there. all in all i didnt spend too much just 14 bucks for the plastic welder, and the poly flex piller is about 35 bucks but i needed some anyways for some scratches on the bumper. so im happy my bumper is fixed on the cheap and that my nieces also got some good presents waiting for xmas. i was also able to "plastic weld' on the tabs again that broke off the kidneys.

i will now be extra careful where i park.
