Software Version?

'84 Nissan S12 Turbo
Is there a way to tell what software version I have? I am planning to take the car in for an update because it idles very rough when cold after sitting over night....and I read on here that a software update may cure this. I was just curious....so if they agreed to do a software update, I would be able to tell by the version # they actually did the update or not
