With all the uncertainty around this subject, that might very well be the case. I just updated my signature to remove the CIP v19.1.1 reference so that I don't potentially mislead anybody with the wrong info.

I can't get this to work. I can get into the diagnostic menus, but there is so much information on the "Applikation" screen that there are scroll bars. The interface for the diagnostics is very basic, and it does let you use the controller to move over to the "Prev" and "Next" buttons (when applicable for the screens that support it), but does NOT allow you to scroll the Applikation display. Thus, I cannot see the last line. (And trust me: unless there's something really funky you have to do to get it to scroll, there's no way I could see to do it...I'd be happy to take pictures or even video to demonstrate.)
DOH!...on mine it all fits on one screen.

I am taking my car for service next week, I want to upgrade software. What should I tell my SA in order to get a free software update? My last update was around april 2005, back then I complained about flase FTM warnings and that justified the update.

What fixes are there in the latest version?

I would always be very careful about making apparently unneeded software updates. I would not do an update unless it was necessary from the dealer's perspective or I had a significant problem that I could not live with--that the update is supposed to cure. Some are having trouble with their radios cutting out after getting 19.02. 19.01.01 works perfectly for me--at least so far. The cure can easily be worse than the disease when it comes to software--particularly if one does not have a significant problem.

Yeah, I had mine upgraded only because I needed to. I had the rattling noise from the active steering with the associated malfunction light and the slamming downshift, to name a few. It took them 3 days to do it. I then brought my car back for the Aux Input install and the program crashed so they kept my car for another day. Now my DRL is not working so I have to bring it back but I'm afraid to, to be honest....

Yep. I am sorry that you are having so much software trouble. Do you know what CIP they are trying to load? Just curious; no insights not already mentioned.

They supposedly loaded v19.1.1. I asked my SA which version, she asked the tech and then wrote that on my work order.

Sorry, I forgot you mentioned the version earlier.

No worries...

Hey, maybe I'll get a newer version when they "fix" my DRLs....

I need to check. I might now have this problem. Who knows? I forget; what all should be on when the running lights are on?
