Once your BMW service and warranty runs out does anyone know the cost of software updates.

I'd say in two or three years the thing is likely to be bug-free.

mmm i wouldnt be that optimistic, i mean, the 7 series still has its bugs, but as they get higher versions it will be harder to find an excuse to get free updates, i dont even think you'll be able to update it if you dont have a problem, just my opinion though.

My dealer won't allow me to have the updates unless there is a specific problem. I'm still on my original version. I got the recall letter yesterday for the emissions issue, so I'll try to convince them to upgrade my whole computer then.

why don't you just tell him some of the common ones? windows not rolling all the way up every time, cd starting on song 1, idrive freezing, just tell him one of these and i think theyll have to believe you.

What is the current version? 13.2? Mine is being updated right now. Should have it back later today. I will let you know what they put in.
