I actually stopped reading this forum every day b/c I tried to stop bringing my car into the shop every month...I need to decide if a new update is needed when I go in for oil and 10 other little things.

I believe CIP 20 is out right now.
Anyway, I have a related question - I have no idea what software is installed on my car, but everything works perfectly as is right now. Should I upgrade the software? Or I'd be better off not doing anything at all?

in answer i didnt remember your spec e60 but apart from some bugs the updates to the latest 20 version is good added features to navigation and audio features suggest you get it. if the will do it for you

Yeah you might add few new things with the new software update, but you can also brake few things.
