I have my first oil change scheduled at dealer next tuesday Jan 4.
I have a list of minor issues, one of them is FTM sensitivity. Dealer told me they will upgrade software to correct some of the issues.
I also asked for BT activation, dealer said not possible, I called BMWNA and with mi vin number they confirmed that it is possible in my car, they called dealer and told them where to look for the info so they can activate BT.

Question:

1-Is BT is activated merely by loading latest version of software? Or is there additional work involved?

2-If BT activation is more than a software update, how much should I pay? I do not want to end up paying for them to practice on my car.

Thank you

The tech needs to set up BT while in the idrive software after it is updated.

There is a thread on pricing that you can hunt for that shows prices paid, some have paid nothing (maybe only one person) while others have paid around $400-500 or more.

It is great though when it is up and running.

i think some members paid an hour labor which is around $100 and nothing else. but if you need s/w update for other reasons, you can ask your service advisor or technician to do you a favor .
