Does Bmw use a softer glass on their front windshields ? I notice very subtle small pit marks on both of my cars windshields .I havent driven in any dust or sand storms. Is there a way to polish this out or hide it ?

Thanks

My Ride: 2004 BMW 530i - no mods. Pretty basic really. I mean it has tires, windows, and a sweet look, what more could a man want? Honestly, I'd like to improve the sound system mildly, and possibly find a worthy engine mod that would increase my BHP by 100 without giving an arm and a leg for. I don't think it's out there, so I'll stay stock and love driving my 530i.

Do yourself a favor and leave a wide distance and lane between you and the those dump trucks and 18 wheelers. When in traffic during rush hour, I take as much care as when I'm parking at the Mall at Christmas time. Driving a 55K car makes you a better driver, just my opinion.

I'm like you in the parking lot and on the road . The pits I'm concerned about are pin point sized and really only noticeable driving into the sun,,, strange !!

I am on my third bimmer and all of them have the neddle size pit on them. I agree that BMW windshields are softer or atleast easy to get pitted. On my last bimmer, I replace the windshield with non OEM and seem to be better.

Agree that the windscreens must be softer or not up to par! Find they get small pin size chips very easily - more so than my previous japanese cars I had....

For some reason BMW windshields are known to pit. e39's complain about it all the time. My e39 wad a lot of pits, but you only noticed it when driving into the sun.
