Passed on three options.

M-multi function seat/Ventilated seat.- Due to my waist size the multi-function seat is too tight for me so had to pass it up and in process passed up ventilated seat as well.

Sirius- never liked to listen to radio so this was useless for me.

I passed on Active Cruise for $2200. Since I can't even remember the last time I used regular cruise control (last time I drove up to San Francisco like 3 years ago?), this is not something I would ever use.

Also passed on rear airbags, rear seat heating.

Passed on and don't regret......for a 550i.

L7.....overpriced, CD player in a dumb location.
CA......Not needed, had it on the E500 and barely worked. Another gadget to break, don't mind the start/stop and key issue.
HUD......cool, but not for $1k.
Rear shade.....had it on the E500 and never used it.
Cruise Control.......not interested at all.
Active Steering........if it could be turned off, would have went for it.

Comfort access.? Using the new Start / Stop button without it is a pain.?

And it's infuriating that BMW expects us to donate another $1,000 to the cause just make this useless feature useful.?

I fully agree with you on this one. Why not just make this feature standard or don't even give me the start stop button without comfort access. Ridiculous to have to still insert a key and then press the button.

[/quote]Me three. It is ridiculous to make a workable 1 step process a 2 step process for no reason. It should be a key or a button, not both.

My 2003 X5 will autocrank once you move the key to the start position, even for a split second. Maybe they were worried about over cranking which is doable if you hold the key there? The button would prevent this.

Passed on HUD, NAV, Cold Weather Package and don't regret any of these. Do regret not getting Sport Package. When I ordered my car back in Dec 2003, the Active Steering was not as refined as it is now and I did not care for the feel of it. Of course it is now greatly improved with subsequesnt software updates, but at the time nobody could tell me that the very artificial feel would be greatly improved. That aside, I don't really miss the AS, but I do miss is the rest of the SP, the Active Roll Stabalization in particular, along with the Style 124 wheels, though once the post Katrina expenses settle down somewhat, the 135's will be coming...

That's how MB works, if you don't order keyless-go..........there is no start/stop button.

But I should say that the start/stop button on the Benz is on the shiftknob.

Where the start/stop button on the 5 is located conveniently right where the key slot is making for a very quick process. In my case, comes as 2nd nature (not a big deal at all).

If the start/stop button on the 5 was located on the shiftknob, now that would be a bit annoying.
