You probably can't tell because of the Dynamic Drive and the slope of the cement but there is only ~ .75 inch gap. I couldn't do anymore even if I wanted to otherwise I will rub.

Yes, they're fairly easy to clean but I wouldn't say 10 seconds a wheel! But it is fairly easy to get behind the spoke to clean the entire inner wheel.
