I'm going to need a new water pump and thermostat.
Is replacing these a doable task for me or would i be better off going to a mechanic?
I am capable of working on my car, I could do it myself, but i just dont know if that would be too much work.
Any advice?

On the N62 the pump itself is pretty easy. Be sure to get the short pipe, replace all the fasteners. you also need to get the temp sensor on the top of the pump. If you have a lot of miles take a look in the hole going to the transfer pipe under the valley pan and note the condition of the seal. If yours looks like mine, you are in for a lot of work and $$$

It's not a bad DIY but take your time and make sure you have the right tools.
