I haven't been too active here this past year but just wanted to say thanks to everyone. It's been a great community. Just poking around on some of the other forums there's definitely a good number of people on here or who were on here that really knew their stuff and took some DIY / experimental stuff to the extremes. I'd encourage newbies on here to really go back through some of the projects posted here over the years.. amazing.

My car went out of warranty 15 days ago and I just got my new truck last week. Today I sold "Lucille" and it was a bit sad. I'm 99% sure I'll be back in a bimmer in the next 2-3 years. Not sure which one but I'd love for it to be an I8 ....

Anyway.. keep an eye out on Private Member Classifieds if anyone is interested in a good number of the things from my sig block. You're welcome to PM me ahead of time but while I loved the community.. I do still want to get non-low ball offers so there's a good chance I'll still end up posting it all for everyone to see with a price next to it. I'm located in Northern Virginia for anyone that wants to consider a pickup though.

Good luck to you all and thanks for all the fun.

Did you sell it simply because warranty ran out? Ouch - it must be tough to go from a 535i to a truck. Just my opinion though - I hate trucks. However, I know a lot of my friends would prefer their trucks to my 335/535 for everyday driving.

Partially yes.. it was either pay more to extend it or go with a new vehicle. We have very good use, not necessarily need, for a vehicle we can haul stuff easily with too. That was a help on it too. I am also a fan of the F150 so that was a feather in its cap as well. The F150 Limited I have has a lot more features than my E60. The only thing it doesn't have I wish it had that was in the bimmer was adaptive lighting. It's like I'm going around turns blind now. :-O

The car just had too many problems for me to ever own it out of warranty, so keeping it without just was not an option to me. I was only at 37k miles too. I couldn't justify dropping money into a 550xi or M5 when it cost even more and didn't check a box for the larger storage/hauling capacity. I'm sure I'll get something nice in a few years though to go with the truck when it makes sense.. but I'll probably have a kid by then so we'll see.
