Well after Saturday's first test drive, and the awesome salesman goin over the entire navigation and I-drive features, which i think is pretty awesome. Now, after an actual experience, i have to wonder what the fuss is about this I-drive, are the people trying to use it a bunch of monkeys??????? Voice recognition was pretty good as well, as when i drove the new RL, it never recognized commands. The car handles sooo friggen tight and omg i came into a corner super hard and i'm just amazed how this car turns. The car turns like it's on roller coaster rails. Very nice power. I love the sytling of the car, soo differnt. The interior is my only gripe, but i can totally live with it. So as soon as i can get a buyer for the benz, include me in the owners list. I don't care if the car has glitches, i love the car....

I'm with you on iDrive - my wife got a new minivan today and there's just a million buttons for the nav, climate etc and I found myself wishing it had iDrive as well......

In my experience, most of the people that knock iDrive have either never used it, have not spent more than a couple of hours with it, have not read the manual or are basing their opinion on those of the motor journalists (who fall into some or all of the three previous categories...)

Your local BMW center will be happy to take the benz off your hand. while there, you can find out about the seats as well.

Good luck and welcome aboard.

I'm wondering if you could just swap seats from a 7-series, since they are the same comfort seats???? Maybe i'll look into it and see if its remotely possible later on down the road if i can't get um now if i have to order one.

Actually the comfort seats on the 7er have a few adjustments that the 5er comfort seats do not have. Or so I am told. Leather is also nicer on the 7.
