Hit the 4k mark... should i change the oil on my own or wait for the scheduled time?
I never listened to BMW when they say its safe to change the oil every 15,000 miles but then again i never purchased a brand new BMW...

I also noticed i have loud clicks/quiet metals bangs coming from the front end area after the car has been driving for a while or if it was driven hard... you can hear when the car is on or off... the noise does go away after the car has been shut off and sat turned off for a little while.
It kinda reminds me off the ticking sound you get from a car after it has been turned off except much much louder...

Any idea what that is?

This is a question that always gets the "you can't change the oil too often" answer.

Personal choice.

I change mine at 7000 miles then let the dealer do the 15,000 mile.

Normal. I believe it's metal in some of the components cooling and either contracting or expanding.

But if you hear a loud explosion, different story.

I think it will as I can't recall having heard it on my car for some time. But I haven't paid much attention as it's something I'm accustomed to.

Just tell them that it's either the squirrels trying to escape or the normal sound of a supercharger cooling down.
