Always soo much fun with this car.

I just filled up put like 16-17 gals in.

drive about 10-15 minutes and then the car stumbles at about 45 mph.

I drive another half block and when I let off the gas the car stumbles. then quits.

Car will not restart, if it does start it promptly quits within seconds.

I coast to a stop and call AAA.

Anyone with a diagnostic chart as where to start?

Thanks

545I with about 105k

Well, as I recall, you have enough skill to tell the difference if it's not getting spark, not getting gas, or both. You know there are only 3 things that make an engine run (or not run), it needs fuel, air and spark. The first step is to determine which one it's not getting, then work from there.

Hopefully it was just bad gas (not that gas) and it resulted in a clogged fuel filter.

Well i just got back from outside. It is a fuel issue. I just need to find out what type.

fuel pressure, ie fuel pump

something like a no pulse command to the injectors.

or bad gas, really bad gas.

Well it does not seem to be the gas as it is running on it in the pressure washer.

So it appears to be a pressure issue or missing a command to fire off the injectors

If it is missing a command to fire off then it would be a spark/ignition issue. Battery possibly? When our batteries fail they seems to cause all sorts of mayhem.

It will run and idle on carb cleaner so it is not a spark issue.

I loaned out my fuel pressure gauge but to who?

Not a battery, as the thing will spin the engine like crazy.

Car will idle on carb cleaner sprayed down the air intake, so it is not a ignition issue, If it will run on carb cleaner the ignition should be ok.

I don't know much about petrol e60's, but the first thing that springs to my mind is the HPFP...
