Hi, I've searched but I couldn't find this question out.

Has anyone installed the SMG Steering wheel with the automatic transmission? Are the airbags the same?

My friend with a 2003 540i installed the SMG steering wheel with auto transmission car. I love the SMG steering wheel so much more than the standard one.

Any info would be great!

Thanks!

Rumor has it that Hobi (a.k.a. the E60 car modifications wizard!) has a solution for joining an //M SMG steering wheel to a steptronic transmission. Hobi's new website is supposed to appear sometime next year (www.switchchange.com).

The sooner, the better!

yep, there you have it guys.
sure it works great. I love it. It allows me to use the full potential of the car more effectively, quickly and with both hands on the steering wheel at the same time.

You have to purchase a new circular airbag for the 'SMG' steering wheels, the airbag cost really alot !

We need a group buy for the total solution.
