It doesn't happen often, but my SMG has stalled twice in the 10,000 miles and 10 months I've had my car, anyone else have this experience?
The two times it happened I was actually in parking lots at low speed, glad I wasn't on the road as power steering was lost and I had to drop it back to N to restart, the problem did not occur again for 6 months or so.

Havent yet *knock on wood*
But I have read of a few instances... Software hickup and it doesnt engage the clutch and stalls the car I bet. What gear were you in and at what speed did it stall?
If it gets locked in 6th and stalls that would be bad...

Well technically the SMG had to stall and not work in order to stall the engine right?

Never stalled (*knock*) however I have ground 2nd twice in the 34K miles that I have now.
It takes a strange combination of heavy throttle from a dead stop then a lift of the throttle just before 2nd followed by a quick reapplication of throttle (or something like that).
In other words: Start off from a stoplight with the intention of "spirited driving", think you see a cop out of the corner of your eye, lift off the gas while checking your instincts, realize its a popcorn head in her Crown Vic then hop on the gas again.
Again, it only happened twice to me but it was basically the same situation. Hopefully I don't hear that sound ever again.

Couldn't the engine stall within it's own confines?

Yes, luckily I was going slowly in a parking lot. If it happens again I'll take it in and see if they say anything. Thanks for the input.
