Ive just been sweating the M5 shifter .. is it possible to put that on an 08 535 ? What is the cost? Do you get the same functionality as in m5 ?
Is it a clean fit in terms of the dashboard fitment? or do you have to get a new dash as well ?
Anyone in NYC area that can do this?

The SMG is a completely different type of transmission, not just a pretty-looking shifter.
Retrofitting the shifter wouldn't do anything, assuming it'd even be do-able.
Now if you're looking to swap in a transmission from an M5 and all associated things... then that's a completely different story
