noticed 2 drops of oil on my garage floor this morning so i went to look for the culprit. pulled the big plastic shield under the front of the car and it had a good dose of oil on the passenger side...seems to have been there a while. also saw oil on the thermostat and water pump.
any ideas where it could be coming from?

Look like it's been a slow leak for some time. Take a photo of the source of the leak. It will be up top. on the second photo you have a tube showing and it look like also has oil on it so the leak should be above that. If you're really unsure where it comes from then with the engine cold spray some engine degreaser and let it work for about 15 min and then spray off...all of it and let engine dry a bit. keep an eye on it daily until you start to see oil.

 

Im gonna say it's the oil pressure sensor. That or the vacuum pump.

 

Look at the following closely-

Valve cover gaskets
Oil Pressure Sensor (next to oil filter)
Oil filter cover gasket (large o-ring)
Oil filter housing gasket

Clean the entire area with brake parts cleaner and monitor for new oil residue.
