Default Sluggish Acceleration from Stop 525i

I finally got my dream car.. Its a 06 525i. I am loving it as its my first ever Bimmer

One thing is bothering me though. When I am on drive, and I slightly press on accelerator pedal, the vehicle hardly moves.. I need to give it a good amount of gas for it to start moving. I know that the 525i has the lowest power (218hp), but still this feels too low for me. Once the car picks up speed, its a pleasure to drive it. But its got a sluggish pick up.

Is this normal? What do you think I can do to improve this? I tried resetting the adaptive transmission system, but it hardly worked.

Thanks
Sandy

After driving the car for some time, put your hand on each of the wheel. See if any of the wheels is getting hotter than others. If one of the brake calipers is sticking, it can take some energy to get the car going. Once the piston [in the caliper] retreats, car will move fine until you brake and come to a stop.

Also, check if the air filter is clean.

I wish I could have done. I live in Minnesota where the temperatures are below zero right now
Meanwhile, i tried resetting the automatic adaptive transmission by pressing down on the accelerator pedal for about 30 seconds. I am able to notice a slight difference due to this. But in general, does the 525 lack power in comparison to its 528, 530 counterparts?

Thanks
Sandy

525 has single stage intake manifold system. 530 has 3-stage intake manifold system. Power difference between 525 and 530 is definitely noticeable. I test drove both cars.

I just bought the same car and have the same problem. Have driven it a week and I cant find anything or any answers. If you figure it out let me know please. I love this car and cant believe my first nice car I've ever had is a lemon.
