Is there any way to use the i-drive knob to switch between Sirius satellite stations? (I'm not talking about where you would twist and then press the knob and then press play again.)

Just seems strange that on the AM preset, all station or FM preset, all station screens that all you have to do is twist the knob to move from station to station but there is no equivalent way of doing that within the satellite channels. (I know you can use the channel up/down buttons on the dash/steering wheel but I'd like to do it with the i-drive knob.)

you can preset the station and then use your steering wheel controls to switch between the channels you like

Welcome to E60 forums Kosta157 and dieterm! Please post your location in your control panels. Makes discussion easier knowing where you are located and your car configuration.

Judging by your user name Kosta 157, I'm guessing Greek?

The Sirius interface doesn't act the same as the FM and AM one so it's correct that you can't just spin the dial to change stations. kosta157 is correct that the best way is just to dial in a mode (preset, category, all channels) and just use the steering wheel buttons to move up or down the dial.

I agree with ademitt that adding a location to your profile will help us understand where you are but in the case of these Sirius questions, it's clear to me that we're dealing with US members...

Oh and one more thing -- Yasou kosta!

Yeah, I thought you might but I wasn't sure if it was "legal" yet. (I remember reading where Canada was finally allowed to get Sirius but I thought there was still a bunch of governmental red-tape to go through.)

One of these days, I imagine they could go global, right?

The deal is pretty much done i think and you can get Sirius through CBC.

There are a number of CDN members who have a US post box for billing purposes and had the sat radio installed in their cars at a US dealership. If you are in the southern part of Canada you could get coverage.

The only gripe I have about using my Sirius is to change to the next station down on the iDrive screen you actually use the up arrow on the steering wheel selector. Come on BMW make a fix for this!!!!!!

Yeah, you have to imagine the selector on the screen for it to make any sense.
