Hello,

My 545i is scheduled for production in early June.

I ordered the factory-installed Sirius option, and it was listed on OC on the order details list last week.

Now it says: Satellite Radio Prep

Has something happened to factory-installed sat? No NAV on my car.

Specs = 545i, step, sapphire black metallic, sport, premium sound, anthracite maple, satellite radio

Thanks for any insight here

It sounds like a mistake on the ordering. If you have no Nav, then you should have no problem with Sat or Sat prep. They must have transferred the wrong code or something. It could also be that the OC just has it wrong but the order is correct.

Call them on their toll free number and ask for confirmation, or check with your sales dude.

Not sure but didn't I read a thread recently somewhere that implied that all Sirius installs will be done at the dealership?

If that's true, and I'm not saying it is, that might explain why the factory installed Sirius turned into a Sirius prep only.

MB only does sat radio at the dealer. Sat radio is a US only item, and apparently getting the parts in Germany was not judged to be worth the effort (if you are short of parts you have reschedule the car's production).

Note that Honda doesn't have any factory options (they treat their only 'option', navigation, as a separate model). Everything else is dealer installed (including a/c on some models, park distance sensors, etc.).

That actually makes sense now that you mention it. Checking it with the dealer would make sense in any event.

Thanks for the input. I'll call the dealer and see what's up. I always start on the forums first.
