Gorgeous car!!!!!!!!
Toni,
It was standard on my 545 with sport package, probably the same on the 550.

Hi Frank,
My sales rep. said black was standard but, wasn't totally sure. And in pictures on this site I see steering wheels that are all black and some with silver????? I guess I will find out in a few weeks when mine arrives. Thank you so much for the input.

I have the 550 with sports package and it came standard, you will love that car.!!!![Devil](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/devil.gif)
Hi, I see you previously owned two 7 series. I was just wondering why you went back to a 5. I almost got the 7 but felt the 5 was sportier and the 7 doesn't have a manual and that is a must for me.

Hi, I've seen some pictures on this site and some people have these silver accents on the steeing wheel that looks really sharp. Does it come with the sport package? I know the generic steering wheel is all black. I have about 4 weeks to go before my 550 arrives![Big Grin](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/biggrin.gif)

My Ride: 2006 550 SMG
![Default](https://5series.net/forums/images/icons/icon1.gif)
The 7 series is no doubt a nice car, but im 34 and it was too big and limousine like for my taste, the 5 definitly looks and drives more sporty + SMG. Same engine better overall performance, I like to have the smallest body style with the biggest engine available. The 750 I had was a nightmare nothing but problems, not electrical or computer related but mechanical.

You can buy the trim part:
Part No. for steering wheel w/ hexagon airbag: 32-30-6-766-012 $55.80 MSRP
Part No. for steering wheel w/ round airbag: 32-34-6-763-377 $55.80 MSPR
You can get it cheaper with the right connection with your BMW part dept.
