Should I take this opportunity to leave the front license plate bracket off and go with a clean look? As an alternative I can zip tie it on the lower air intake to make it legal.

The dealer never gave me such choice when I ordered the car!

I thought that's an offense for not having the front license plate on in CA, I once had a ticket for being naked in the front.

Figure out what it's worth to you and do the math.

It's illegal here to run w/o a front plate but the ticket is only ~$35. So I figured the look of no front plate was worth at least $350 to me. Therefore I'm good for ten tickets before I might succumb. The car looks so much better without it. :thumbsup:

Driving in the city one would get tickets all the time.

But luckily the licence plates in Europe are not the square
ones as in the US so it don't look that bad.

The US plate fits really nicely rear but not in the front.

I vote for the naked, clean look! Besides, you can keep the old bracket and install it later if required.

Unfortunately, I live in California and my '05 530i was delivered with the front bracket. I removed it and used the two bracket screws to fill the holes. Gave brief consideration to Bumper Plugs, but they require enlarging the existing holes which might pose problems if I got ticketed and had to put the bracket back on.
