Not having any symptoms of a bad battery. Only indication is the window is Black--Not Fully Charged. Tried putting a charge on it, but it would not go Green. The voltage needle on the charger was up to 14.4 or so. That should be a full charge. Interestingly, after about 20 minutes on the charger, the battery started making a slight hissing noise. Presumably from the vent tube. I disconnected the charger at this point. FYI, I had the charger connected to the terminals under the hood, and I had the cover in the trunk off so I could inspect the battery window during the charge. That's when I heard the hissing (gas escaping).

I have my Brake Vacuum Line recall scheduled next week with a loaner all set up, and I think I should go ahead and get the battery during this appointment. What do you think?

How old is the battery? If it's OEM, the date stamp would be on the negative terminal (week and year). Mine is 5 years and 3 months old and it seems to be okay even with the black indicator. However, I have been getting intermittent airbag and seat belt errors so I don't know if the battery is going. If your battery is 14.4 after the charge, wait overnight and measure the battery voltage again to see if it holds up. If it does, it should still be good.
