Or: "Dude, can I borrow your rig for the night? I want to sit right next to my girlfriend, so we can listen to a shitty stereo and peer at the moonlight out the back of that cab."
Or, just let him beat you. Because he'll still be in a Ford Lightning when he gets there.

Leave only a 1/4 tank of gas. Those weight savings should guarantee a victory even if you get a bad start.
