how come the shift nob is not wood. i hate that it is a $160 option to buy a wood nob

That annoys me too. My wife has a 2003 X5 which came with a beautiful wood shift knob. I spent 10k more and don't get one. It makes no sense. If you have a 545 or a premium package car, you should have one. They look great.

yep my uncle has a 03 x5 and yes it too has a wood grain shift knob

I hated that to and ended up getting both the shit knob and the brake handle as accessory from the dealer. I will take some pictures of them installed and post them.

I thought the exact same thing. Why no wooden shifter knob??

I am ordering one also. It goes for $160/USD.

By the way, the wooden emergency brake is $145/USD.

my uncle has removed the shift knob on his x5 and said it is easy. you just twist it i think counter clockwise about 1/8th of an inch and pull up. it should come up e.z. dont force it or it will break!!
