Sport Package includes Shadowline Trim.
I don't really understand what is so "special" about this. I see a lot of cheap cars like base Corolla/Camry have black lines instead of chrome lines.
Am I missing something?

"Most" people think it matches the E60 more. High Gloss trim actually looks the best.

Shadowline trim equates to having a Sport Package. Without this correlation, or the opposite is true, I bet everybody will get the chrome trim.

chrome trim tells other bmw drivers the it is a non-sport vehicle. shadow line trim tells other bmw drivers that the vehicle is equipped with sports package. Black gloss trim is usually standard on M vehicles.
Most of us do not like chrome on our vehicles. we feel it cheapens the image of our BMWs. There are certain instances, only when it's done correctly when the chrome trim flow with the vehicle. ie Member Nerweezy's vehicle. nerwyll's car is the only vehicle i have seen with chrome trim that is show quality worthy.
just my $0.2

The sport pkg includes a stiffer suspension, lower ride height, staggered wheel set up, and ARS (for some models)....the shadowline trim is a quick way to visually differentiate a sport from non sport pkg....but since it can be retrofitted easialy and inexpensively, it's not always a tell-tale sign....
like any other mod/option...it comes down to personal preference...
