Shadowline
Hi guys as the title say I want to convert my chrome trim into black and I actully did it by painting them when I painted my mirrors before 1 week, BUT today I noticed there is some chrome spots on my window trim which means that the paint didn't make the job
my question is where to buy good shadowline to hide all that bad paint and the bad look of my trims cause I have been searching and I found several of sites selling them, one of them for 500$ which is very expensive and other site selling for 27$ per each roll what's the best and the cheapest.
I hope no one says -if you don't care about money because I care I spent this month 1600$ on my car .
thanks guys

I painted mine too - 3 times, before I said "screw it" and stripped all the paint off and applied gloss black vinyl to it. Do that and you should be fine. From what I've seen the site bmwshadowline.com has the best price for the vinyl, $20.95 for a 2" X 30' roll is perfect to do all the trim
Good luck and, as always, pics or it didn't happen

you can get 2 rolls if it makes you feel more comfortable, but yeah 30' should be enough. Just remember each piece of trim needs a full sheet of vinyl, no splices - it will shrink after it's been on for a while. Also, there will probably be some bubbles, poke the big ones with a needle to deflate and the tiny ones don't worry about. As the vinyl shrinks they go away anyway (unless you got dirt trapped under it)

I guess bubbles are better than labyrinthine

HAHAHA no problem, they used to have a 2"X30' roll before, wonder what happened to it? Anyway, yes the 3"X30' would work too, just give you a little more excess to trim off after it's on. I'd also suggest taking the trim off the car to do it, much easier and more comfortable - I did it while watching F1 racing in my livingroom

Yes, 1 roll is enough, but don't go crazy and use 1.5 times the actual length you need to cover a part. In other words, be conservative and not too liberal with it. +1 on taking the piece off first before when covering it. It makes it easier.
Also, handy tools to have: blow dryer, so you can heat the vinyl up to go around curves. Very share X-acto knive to trim it.
BTW, $500 for the OEM shadowline is too much. I got mine for about $250 shipped from onlinebmwparts.com. OEM is the best.
