I asked my dealer how much it would be to add shadowline and he didn't have any answer other than saying "it's too expensive so it's not worth it." For those of you who've done it, how much does it cost (parts + labor)?

Dealers suck big time at these things , honestly I don't know how these people survive...
My dealers asked 4 hours of labour @ 100 euros per hour. I got a good indy shop to do it in also 4 hours (they never done it before, so they were careful) They charged me 240 euros for the labour. The trim itself at the dealer was about 180 euro's I think...so about 420 euro's in total.

Car looks great greycoopers! Judging by the pics I'm guessing that its the matte black shadow line. Did you buy this directly from BMW and if you don't mind me asking, how much did it run you?? I wonder if there's a shop here in Toronto that can do this install or if its something I can undertake myself.

Do it yourself. It's easy!

I was initially apprehensive but the whole process (including taking out the chrome trim intact) took me less than 2 hours. I was really taking my time.

Thanks for the advice and links Balbs. The DIY does appear to be easy enough. Time to find out what my local dealership will charge for the material. I've got a full to-do list of mods to take care of so I may as well add this to it. It does change the appearance of the care substantially. I'm sold.
