Hi All,

The oil service warning on the wife's '08 520d is on, and it's red (-2900 miles)

I've changed oil and filters etc... and tried the following to reset it:

turned on ignition (without starting car)
held down tachometer reset button
held it down again when oil can icon appeared, at which point RESET? appeared
then i tried, releasing and hold again (nothing happened)

so i did it all again and tried, just pressing it without holding down when the RESET? appeared... again nothing happened.

any help appreciated, car is out of warranty so I don't want to go near dealer if at all possible given their outrageous rates

 

is right side km on 000.0?
