Looking in the iDrive service menu, I specifically remember seeing the ridiculous recommended 24,000km oil change. After doing a few runs of 130mph+ in the past 2 weeks, I looked in iDrive last night, and the service oil change had changed to 9000km. So I'm wondering, is the service interval menu dynamic (changing)?

Yep, it is DYNAMIC. My routine driving has it change at a consistant 1000 miles per 1000 miles driven. BUT, when I did about 400 miles of Tail of the Dragon and related roads keeping revs up in the 4000-6500 range the CBS accelerated - brakes too on those twisties - same with autoxing. Mine was not so dramatic but maybe cause I had more miles clocked on that cycle.

My Ride: 2004 545i / Orient Blue (I think) / Tan int / 116's Wheels / ... my favorite option, the HEATED steering wheel!
Previous cars retired:
2006 Corvette Z51, 2002 Corvette Coupe, 2002 Mustang, 1997 Maxima, 1994 Camry, 1990 Supra
None, and I mean none compare to this 545i. The 06 Corvette was faster, but not by much...
The synthetics are weird like that, they change as the temp changes.

So I took another look in the iDrive service menu and actually clicked on the oil change icon. I realized that the Km/Miles posted refers to "How many Km/Miles remaining until next oil change." Upon reading that, it made more sense. Before I kept thinking the distance posted referred to "you should change oil at XXXX Km/Mile"
