My free maintenance has ran out since I'm now at 52K miles. Does anyone know what service I should ask an Indy shop to perform and the average cost I should expect? I'm thinking this should just be a minor service (just oil change) until my 60K is up. Also, what type of oil does everyone here recommend?

First, take a look at the owner's manual. This should give you an idea of what needs to be done at specific mile intervals. It will also give you a list of recommended motor oil for your car.
Oil, filters, and brake pad/rotor changes are condition based. The easiest way to estimate when they need service is by looking at the idrive.
Cost for these services can vary. They should be less than a dealer, but I wouldn't dare say the cost will be cheap. DIY is the best way to save money here.
Do your research on these things before you visit the indy shop, otherwise you are at their mercy.

The idrive maintenance will indicate what maintenance to perform. But to be proactive, you might want to check the belts, pulleys and water pump.
