Hi guys,

I encountered a serious problem today with my 520i while driving. Suddenly screen turned off, speed, petrol and consumption indicators where not working only rev indicator was working. After a while the car started showing all the errors you can imagine. First it started with "Transmission fault", gears where not changing normally (automatic gearbox) especially when trying to accelerate from 0 speed you could understand that the car was trying to change gears but it couldn't. Also the light on the gearbox which shows which mode is on (R,N,D,P) was off. Next "Control Systems Fault" saying that brake and driving controls failed and advised to avoid heavy and sudden use of breaks and "Cruise control fault" popped up, ABS was not working and all kind of leds on the dashboard start showing.

Can you suggest anything, im desperate!!!

thnx for your time

Nope, when my alternator went out, my transmission was clunky as hell!

Definately a charging fault man, get the battery checked, and if its holding charge, its the alternator for sure. Good luck
