Can it get any uglier? (Don't asnwer that...).

Total U.S. passenger car sales are down 22% this month ... after only being down 2.4% YTD through August. Ouch.
BMW car sales are down 36% this month ... after being down 7% YTD.

E60 sales crash 40% this month. The entire midsize premium car segment is down 25% this month compared to September last year. The MB E-Class is down 41% (but outsold the 5 Series by 545 units). The only relatively strong performer is the Audi A6 (-3%).

What's Hot
Remarkably, there are some gainers this month:
Pontiac Vibe +99%
Chevy Malibu +75%
Buick Enclave +32%
VW Jetta +22%
MB C-Class +17%

What's Not
Umm ... everything else? Some of the carnage includes:
Nissan Pathfinder -84%
Ford Explorer -67%
Volvo C30 -66%
Toyota FJ Cruiser -65%
Hummer H2 - 65%
BMW 6 Series -64%
Lexus LS Series -58%
Ford Mustang - 52%

Fugly... I agree this is going to be ugly for a while

Wish I was in the market, lots of deals around

One boston dealer has two 550's and a bunch of M3's with "make offer" flags on their website...
