Now that the rain is back here, I finally got the chance to use my auto wiper function for the first time and ... they are too darn sensitive. The wipers turn on farr too soon, and increase the frequency of wipes far too early. Furthermore, the frequency/sensitivity control (?) dial/knob on the wiper control stalk seems to be having no appreciable impact on the sensitivity of the thing.

I see that this topc has been brought up before, but with no real conclusion to it, so I'm gonna ask again. Is the auto wiper sensitivity and sweep control something that can be adjusted at the dealer? Has anyone managed to successfully get this done? I'd appreciate any and all input on this as it is really driving me nuts.

... exactly what I am noticing as well. Are you guys just living with it, or is it something that can be corrected by the service chappies?

Mine works pretty well but I remember early on thinking that it didn't work as well as the sensor on the E39. I seem to remember a claim that the performance was improved in a newer version of software (from a year or so ago) but I can't say for sure if the software really did anything or if the dealer can adjust things (nothing in TIS about it). I suppose it wouldn't hurt to ask the next time the car is in for service...
