I didn't care for the color too much. It was too dark. I went with beige leather and poplar wood trim. Looks awsome, IMHO.

The color is great. Expecialyl with Orient Blue. Thats the combo of the first car I test drove at the dealer... orient blue / Auburn SMG. Matches wonderfully.

Above poster is right it looks a bit MORE orange in the pics than in person. Dont worry. you'll like the color. I love it!

Where are you from iperk222

The auburn is different to describe it in one word. If I were you I would make the effort to locate an E60 with that color interior so you know exactly what your dealing with. Remember the dash and headliner color combo as well. As this color is rare it may effect resale value if you asre not leasing. My .02

I got the Auburn and I really like it. It is NOT like the catalog shows. It is much nicer and you should see it first hand. You can see pics of my interior in the gallery of interiors on this e60.net site. In many ways it's as close a BMW Individual as you can get without all the extra money.

Not sure where you live, but call a few dealers in the area and make the effort to see it in person. I thought it looked great on lighter color cars (like Alpine white).

I ordered my new '05 545i last week. Turning in my 2002 530i, Titanium silver, blk leather, sport pkg, prem. pkg. It is an awesome car. I expect my new 545i to be even greater !!? The '05 545 is Orient Blue w/ Auburn leather, sport? pkg, nav, sirius,? prem. sound. My question is that I need some feedback on this leather choice. The dealer had nothing in stock with Auburn leather. Only seen the color on this site and brochure.? How does it look ???? Is it a darker brown or is it really orangey as these pics here show. Let me know what everyone thinks. Has anyone seen this combination together, if so, how's it look?
Thanks for your opinions and I really find this site excellent.

I have seen it and it is wonderful, especially for me who has had too many BMW sand/beige, black and gray interiors. That's why I have one on order for March delivery.

My Ride: 2005 530i - Alpine white with auburn interior; tip, xenon, pdc, sirius, prem, cold weather, red reflectors and xpel.

I am waiting for my car, alpine white with auburn interior. I saw a swatch of the material as well as orient and auburn dealer's car. The swatch looked darker than the actual interior, but the lighting was different. I would also say its darker than the X3's similar color.

I ultimately decided on auburn b/c it wasn't as austere looking as a white & black combo (my X5) & would be easier to maintain than the lighter colors. Hopefully, I like it as much when it actually gets here (2 weeks).

The auburn is not orange - its more like a natural tanned leather so its closer to a deep, reddish brown. The stiching a graining of the leather really stand out - looks very individual. Don't be concerned about resale - it offers the best contrast with black (IMO).

I get nothing but compliments from people who sees my interior combo. A more accurate name for it should be "Cinammon" or Terra Cota.

I love it and the 2 tone really give the interior an "european" flair. The back of the 2 front seats thank God are black, and they compliment the Auburn well.

You won't regret it.
