Is there a panic feature on the Security System?
I would like to hear how the alarm sounds.

How do one activate it, and more important, how do one shut it up?

Break a window...

I think the panic button is only on US models.

Yes, he means the trunk button but I think the panic feature isn't available in all countries. We clearly have it here in the USA.

If you can't get the alarm to go off by holding down the trunk button on the remote, just lock the car with the windows open and wait at least 30 seconds. After that, put your arms in the window and wave them around -- you should set off the alarm by the motion sensor...

Thanks Rudy, but doesn't this achievement open the trunk first?

We don't have a panic buttion in EU.

It's on US spec cars only!

As Rudy said, lock the car with at least one window open, wait 30 seconds, reach in! Or wait for the next E60.net meet (September IAA Frankfurt and on The Ring) to see the panic button on one of the US spec E60's that will be there.

OK, now I know how it sounds.

Have to go to the ER, my fist is broken .

PS. What do a broken side window cost?

No. If you press and release the trunk button, the trunk opens (the release of the button triggers the opening.) If you press and hold the trunk button, the panic feature will eventually go off. Once the panic feature is activated and the alarm is sounding, releasing the trunk button does not open the trunk. (You'd have to start the process over again to open the trunk...)

Or lock the car and stick the key in the trunk key hole and open it via key. I tried that and it opens the trunk with the alarm going off... in the older BMWs you can lock and unlock all the door with the trunk just like the drivers side key hole.
