I am having trouble with my passenger seat airbag. To solve the issue, BMW has offered to replace my normal seats with sport seats. This seems to be a good deal since the sports seats are 12 way powered compared to I think 8 way powered and the sports seats also have thigh support. Please let me know if you can tell me a reason not to go with the sports seats. I told them I didn't want to lose any function that is offered with my current seats (memory, heated etc.). Any help would be appreciated.

I got a new 545 2005 last week.
That does have the memory function that you were asking about.
I don't know about the heated seats as I didn't get the heated seats.

Comfort Seats - - I have sport seats there OK, but nothing next to the comfort seats

The only option I wish I had gotten... Those seats are the bomb, after driving to vegas in my friends 745Li

well OK cold weather would be nice some times too -

I have Sport Seats and find them to be much more comfortable than the standard seats, the thigh supports are great.

I have the 10 way power standard seats. I don't have the option of getting the comfort seats. I can either get the sport seats or wait for them to come up with a software upgrade for the standard seats to fix the passenger airbag problem. Can you tell me whether to keep the standard seats or go with the sport seats? Thanks

It occurs to me as I read endorsements of various seats that it might be beneficial to include rough build information - e.g. I am 5'7" 153lbs and 32 years old. I'd imagine bodytype and age are going to have a huge effect on the appropriateness of the seating choice.

Welcome to the forum BMW525i!
You shud not loose any function with a sport seat as it is an upgarde from the standard one. If it is free for you - take it.
Please put your location in your personal profile set-up so it wud be easier to answer your questions as some options are country dependant.

Comfort seats are best. Ask them about paying the difference for Comfort Seats.

BTW, welcome, BMW525i

Thanks for the information. I will ask them about the price difference between the sports seat and comfort seats.
