Hey guys just thought I would share my seafoam experience. For those who are not familiar this is a engine treatment product used to clean carbon buildup and sludge. There is lots of hype over this stuff on allmsorts of car forums and on YouTube but I was always hesitant to use my Bmw. So coulpe weeks ago I bought a 2004 nissan murano SE with 56,000 miles. The murano was getting bad mpg (15mpg in the city) so I gave seafoam a try. I did the 1/3 in intake, 1/3 in gas and 1/3 in crankcase method, the results were great I now get 19-20 mpg and the engine feels smoother and the vehicle idles smoother.
So inwas wondering if anyone has tried this I there Bmw and have gotten similar results?

My Ride: I have an 05 545i. It's a manual with a few options. This is my first BMW but I don't know how I'll ever be able to switch to something else.

Hate to bring this back from the dead, but I noticed nobody commented.
I used seafoam back in the day on my integra gs-r that had about 120K miles on it. Same thing, you did 1/3 in the intake, 1/3 in the crank, 1/3 in the fuel tank. Boy oh boy did that produce some smoke! I thought my car was on fire![Laughing](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/laughing.gif)
But it def works, however I don't know if I would recommend it on a BMW. It's kind of "old tech" stuff, but if you have a high mileage car sitting around it's def worth a shot.
