your call. modern oils, especially good stuff like mobil 1 will last far longer then 3K miles. I would never have brought oil like that to a jiffy lube. it is very likely that is not the oil in your car unless you watched them. peice of mind is 30-40 bucks, it might be worth it, but it wont make much of a difference.

You are nuts to bring a BMW to Jiffy Lube...

Those morons top off all your fluids as part of their service. They poured oil in my daughter?s master cylinder. I had to have the brake system flushed and replace the master cylinder seal that blew up like a beached whale after absorbing the oil.

You could have really screwed your motor if you drove the car hard with that much oil in it.
when I bought my first car (non-bmw). They drained all of my transmission fluid out of the car. The oil change and new transmission fluid were free. Yay...

Get/make taller ramps and next time change the oil yourself. I built my own ramps from 2x10s stacked with each consecutive board shorter than the prevoius. They are sweet and cost maybe $25. If you make the bottom plank about 5 ft long, with each consecutive plank shorter by 6" or so, the drive up will be smooth and worry free. When it comes to oil changes I only trust myself. Anywhere I've gone they OVERFILLED. Get BMW recognized oil (BMW LL-01 or better), do the job yourself, and at least you'll know the job was done right. It's not about saving $ it's my OCD.

I watched them do the job. I cant imagine what would happen if I waited in the lobby. I will never go to jiffy lube ever again. I knew they were incompetent but I figured if I watched, what is the worst that could happen. I dont see how they do not have lawsuits all over the country with these idiots.

I like the ramp idea. I think I will just go to BMW and pay the $$

Dude, just find a good independent mechanic specializing in German cars. Those guys see these cars every day just like the dealer, but it will cost half as much. Plus you won't have to deal with the filthy used oil like you would if you changed it yourself.
